Ah hell, I'm lucky. But regardless of how bad other folks have it, it's hard to feel lucky after these things. They did a poll in Orange county I think, and 31% of the people said they were seriously considering moving out of Florida. But you talk to the folks that have been here their whole lives, and they say they went through a couple of hurricanes in all that time... so this is really unusual.

Every time they interview Floridians now, there are always a few who say that they are moving back to wherever they're from. I suspect that's not a bad thing......esp. if more toxic hurricane seasons become the norm as some are suggesting.

It seems to me that FLA may be overpopulated given the problems its had with ground water levels dropping precipitously and other environmental issues. It might make it better for those of you who stay.

Then again, people have short memories. The population slowdown may turn out to be a blip in an otherwise growing population.

We took it pretty hard over here where it made landfall. Jeanne had about 20 mph faster winds than Frances. Jeanne was a true Category 3. Gusts over 130 mph were common in the northern sectors. They warned for 155.
Interestingly, the track was nearly identical to Frances. Landfall was within a mile. Truly amazing.
More roof damage this time.

That's 4 storms hitting FL in a month. Can we get another?

The weather is a changin'.
