<we are fighting terrorism> We are fighting large numbers on multiple fronts -- if there were no terrorists at all we would still be facing a fullscale guerilla war. The irony of a war of liberation as a rallying call to fight the US should not be lost on you -- although it seems it is. Stay the course? For what? We launched an illegal invasion and then completely bungled it too boot -- why stay and play the role of the army of occupation? Alawi has little if any support within Iraq. Too early to tell how we are doing? No, it is not. We are doing extremely poorly -- that much we know. What we don't know is how the hell to get out of there.

The mission has changed, or at least evolved and we have no options but to stay the course as long as their is a national government that is amenable to our support.
