Elroy,

OmniVision's New 5-Megapixel CMOS Sensor to Rival CCDs in High-End Camera Market

Interesting... Do they have any customers? Competitors? The digital camera I bought recently can do 30 fps VGA and is 5 megapixel - Sony P-100 (or something like that). Is it possible it uses this chip?

I would agree that this may be the next killer app. All that is needed is a good sensor, fast low power chip to process these images and to compress them to something like MPEG4 and 4 GB of flash in this, and camcorders are obsolete.
