Well, if there's anything left of the Itanium porting team, they'll probably not be needed any longer, even as a fallback.

Edit: My bottom line -- whatever it takes to show a profit.

I can verify that rumor. I had dinner last night with a head hunter here in Silicon Valley and he stated that there were going to be "very large layoffs at Sunw". On a positive side, he said his business was finally picking up after three years of being very bad. Companies that are looking to him for help in finding new talent include: security software companies and some of the specialty chip design companies.

Maybe we have seen the lows in the semiconductor group as this industry continues to trade a multi year lows.
