I watched a show on the History channel about Forward Observers and Controllers in the Afghanistan war. WOW, was I impressed. Having been an FO radio operator myself I thought I could relate to it, but to be honest, I was a NEANDRATHAL compared to the equipement and resources our Armed forces have today. It just totally FLOORED ME. The gist of the show was maybe two dozen Americans along with the Afghanistani Northern force defeated the Taliban with HI TECH. MINDBOGGLING. jdn
