Cat Steven's experience is one reason I have avoided visiting the USA in recent years.

Somehow, I'm sure those worried about terrorism would decide I'm a likely candidate. After all, I have links with people from various UnAmerican countries and could well be a terrorist. It's better to be safe than sorry. I'm just one person, so no skin off the average Yank's nose if I end up in the pokey for three years, or forever, as an enemy combatant, with no human rights, no habeas corpus or any of those silly old freedoms.

King George II would have absolute power to decide whether to turn his thumb up or down. Scary stuff.

Meanwhile, what did he really say and think about Salman Rushdie being murdered as called for by the Fatwa?
