One has to scroll to the bottom to start reading "up". I'm not sure on this one. For one thing, I'm still not thrilled with the way I'm handling user-config options because of the number of programming hoops I must jump through quickly and correctly whenever adding a config option, because if I'm not quick enough or correct enough, many pages can bomb out until I've fixed the problem. It's not something that I can confine to the development environment for implementation and testing because every added option involves a structure change (new field) to a very often-used table in the production database. But another reason I'm not sure on this one is that if one wants to read the most recent messages, one need only hit the number of new messages on the SubjectMarks page and "Next" their way through them. Also, just the *thought* of ordering messages the way you're suggesting causes some weird synaptic activity here. Right now, the way it works is something like this: 100 99 . . . 82 81 and hitting "Previous 20" brings up: 80 79 . . . 62 61 It messes with my head to think about it going like: 81 82 . . . 99 100 then 61 62 . . . 79 80 It's a descending/descending thing versus ascending/descending. However, I won't completely rule it out. If enough people want to be able to order their messages that way, I'll be happy to make it possible once I'm a lot happier with how I'm handling user-config stuff. The way I handle user-config on iHub gets me around the problem of having to hoop-jump quickly and correctly, but it doesn't impress me as being terribly efficient. So when I get a chance to devote some time just to that, I'll see if I can come up with something I like a lot better that'll make new options as painless to add as they are on iHub but with greater efficiency.
