Free Membership "Value": My View

rrufff,

<< I am wondering about the value of the freebie membership to the rest of the community and to the site itself. >>

Many of us started out as free members.

I lurked here occasionally for at least a year before coughing up my lifetime membership (a bargain) back in 1997.

I'd like to think I've contributed something to the community along the way.

I know many others that joined after the "try it you'll like it" gig have contributed mightily,

I think the '3' posts per day limit is "just about right" and I'm glad "free" members now have posting privileges which incentivized them to become active and contributing paid members.

There are many talented individuals who could participate here, but whose budgets only stretch so far, and they should be welcome. Free memberships and an opportunity to participate actively, encourage them to become active members.

The owners deserve cash flow and payback.

The community needs active, contributing, intelligent, participants, whether paying or unpaid.

FWIW and JMHO.

Best,

- Eric -
