President Thomas Jefferson On the Enslavement of the Populace:
"Single acts of tyranny may be ascribed to accidental opinion of the day; but a series of oppressions, begun at a distinguished period, and persued unalterably through every change of ministers (administrations) too plainly PROVES a deliberate, systematic plan of reducing us to Slavery."
What a long, sad way we've come in 225 years. Would George Bush ever utter such words? Of course not, the tyranny of the Bush regime will be written about for decades. Even in my home town, we now have a victim of the U.S.A. PATRIOT Act. A political refugee who has lived in the U.S. under assylum for the past 14 yearsw was picked up by the FBI a month ago, and was told he'd be detained for 3 days. Well, that was a month ago and his family is in panic mode now. For him to be sent back to his country of origin would be a death sentence. The case hangs in the balance, yet the local media is completely silent on the matter.

History's Lessons....

"When Hitler attacked the Jews I was not a Jew, therefore I was not concerned. And when Hitler attacked the Catholics, I was not a Catholic, and therefore, I was not concerned. And when Hitler attacked the unions and the industrialists, I was not a member of the unions and I was not concerned. Then Hitler attacked me and the Protestant church — and there was nobody left to be concerned." -- German anti-Nazi activist, Pastor Martin Niemöller

He said it to Pakistan which had been a supporter of the Taliban. They switched sides. But if Kerry had been President the message would never have been delivered. The Taliban would likely still be in power. Osama laughing at America from his Kandahar mansion while Kerry told America we must be sensitive and treat terrorism as a law enforcement issue.
