Bingo! But I think there's a way around it. I'm almost positive there is, because I'm pretty sure I've done it before. I think there's a server property/method that can be looked at to see the URL of the current page.

It'd be a beautiful solution, and free up even more space, but one thing that occurs to me is I might not want to do the work in the top include to determine what board to use in a "This Board" search if the current page is readmsg.aspx with a messageid I have to use against the db to learn the subject number.

Although I could just pass the messageid to the search routine and let it do the lookup rather than doing the lookup twice (once for the top include and once for the meat of the page) on readmsg.
