There are plenty of chinese in indonesia and singapore is a chinese city state in case you hadnt noticed. Chinese have always had designs on the rest of asia but status quo ante only includes taiwan, tibet, uigher region and probably a few others. The point of my post was to warn that great powers in the past have created ethnic/religious regions to obtain natural resources. Ask indonesians and malaysians if they do indeed worry about the PRC or not. mike
