mred,

HOV is weakening. I'm getting several sell signals on HOV. It has been in a declining trend since the last quarter of last year. The highs off each rally are successfully going lower.

I think it's a sell on any attempt to rise from here. It certainly is a sell if it falls below the 20 day moving average.

This "weekly" chart will show how the highs are getting lower but, more interesting is the lower volume and money flows going into the stock. This indicates that the price move doesn't have the support to break out to new highs.

The 20 week moving average is sitting at $36. A break below that is certainly a sell signal.

The daily chart is showing the Stochastic and MACD flashing sell signals now. One might want to take some profits and then see if the 20 dma holds. If it doesn't, the indicators are suggesting sell it all and wait to see how the price responds to the $35-$36 price range before buying back.

We had some strong housing numbers recently and the price can't seem to rise to new highs. I wouldn't fool around if any further weakness shows up.

This analysis is based barring any market moving news we don't know about yet.

KBH and BZH are stronger than HOV but, they are showing signs of weakness as well. I think they are coming down to their 20 day moving averages. I would watch how they respond to those critical support levels and react accordingly.

Here's the link to HTP for further discussion on non-energy related items.
