TE, the idea was to prevent the war from being fought totally by economic draftees. Share the misery as well as the wealth. I think they are being naive. There has never been a draft that touched the wealthy and connected if they didn't want to be touched. Back in WWII, folks like JFK and the real Bush volunteered and risked their lives for the country. Today, the wealthy and connected risk their lives by risking alcohol poisoning and driving Maseratis too fast.

OT - Well hope they will present it again and make mandatory for every one young men and young woman.

The budget deficit will shrink drastically IMHO, will expenses for Medicare and Medicaid, not to mention the benefits of social integration and growing sense of social equality

As it is today teenagers have to much time on their hands and it only induce to trouble
