Sounds pretty bad. Apparently written by some amateur idiot because they bother too much, so the victim will have to remove the spyware. Do you have firewall/antivirus?

I had the exact same experience. Started on Saturday. I'm not going to point any fingers at SI, yet.

I installed a couple of anti-spyware programs. No luck. So, I just used Windows System Restore and rolled back to last week. Problem resolved.

Your mileage may vary.
