<I will continue to fight attempts at parenting by Big Brother, no matter how good it makes those feel who simply cannot parent or cannot take responsibility for their own lives & personal growth.>

Very well said. We who work at it do not need gumment telling us how to raise our children. And I for one will not allow my 17 year old daughter to be drafted into a killing machine for the neo nazis oops I mean neo-cons or is that just plain cons running our country now.

sorry you miss the point and if it is true what you write about your children it is great but I think it is the exception not the norm.

As to your employment analogies it seems that you are not familiar with the amount of "churning & turn over" in some of the jobs you mention.

Please explain what is the great specialization in airport and sea port security – after all those are low paying jobs and after a few months the personnel gets job fatigue and the quality of teh security services degrades substantialy. Changing of the guards every few months will only improve on the service

Further you fail to recognize the issue of "job fatigue" caring for the elderly and the tremendous positive impact a young caring person can have on elderly people. Caring for hte elderly for a long time is emotionally very tasking and over time the elderly get the brunt of it.

Sorry but your post is lacking on many issues and takes a very narrow approach. As the USSR it only proves the point that you completely misunderstood my post.

It is sad that the response to my post brought up AGAIN sentiments of hatred and not a mature debate. Labeling some one “neo con” to cover plain hatred is already an old hat.

Therefore I have no interest in continuing the dialog
