alan, Any time I quote the bible, it is with tongue in cheek. I point out parts of the bible, which Brian considers to be the, absolute, truth in every word therin, to indicate there are conflicting passages in the bible. One example is what I told Brian the other day. According to the bible, God gave the commanment, "thou shalt not kill" in the book of Exodus, but early in Leviticus, He gives Moses a detailed list of entire populations that the Hebrews are to kill, man, woman, and child. That taken as every word is truth, then God is contradicting Himself. I seriously doubt that God would do such a thing. During the 40 days on top of Mount Sinai, Moses could, easily, have chiseled out those 10 commandments, as a tool to control the Hebrews he was leading, that were beginning to get sick, and tired, of wandering around in the desert. Moses was provided food, and water, during that time by Aaron, and sometimes Joshua, so it is feasible that he could have received the necessary tools to carve the comman dments in stone.
