Steve, excellent point. There is no "nuance" that can explain away his "inarticulate" moment, and Kerry ought to stop trying. Among other things, he's putting his supporters in the awkward position of trying to defend the indefensible.

It's the same way the Bush-haters try and defend SeeBS' Memogate. From "Oh, the memos can't be fake," to "The memos are fake but true," to "Rove must have composed those memos," to "The real issue is Bush, not the memos."

All this just because they can't hate Bush enough.
