You are right... after Desert Storm and 10 years of sanctions and no-fly zones, Saddam had just a shadow of his former military might. "Were American troops a decade ago more prepared to dead with chemical and bilogical weapons?" Apparently well enough that he then destroyed whatever stockpiles he had... long before this latest desert misadventure.
