Instead of parsing for all the possibilites every time a message is read, we discussed an alternative of setting some bits for each message indicating which replace(s) it needs to be filtered through. That way the heavy lifting is done once when the record is committed, and the subsequent reads need only parse for what is defined to be there. Some extra work now, but a lot of CPU cycles saved later. Stay tuned for further developments.
