TC:

I come across the Computer Management once in a while and forget how powerful it is. So, I tried what you said. It worked -- sort of. The F drive is still reporting a removable disk that requires a disk to be inserted to be read, which of course is impossible in this pen style storage drive. So, what I did was assign the letter B (the old 5 1/4 drive letter -- remember those?) to the SanDisk drive and it worked! Go figure. I am still pretty baffled at this issue, but appreciate your help in getting somewhere substantial with it.

Stan

Problem with DVD -R on Toshiba Satellite laptop.

It's a combined drive and the CD, CD-R works fine for playing and writing and the drive plays DVD's. Although it worked for awhile, lately when I put in a blank DVD-R, the drive does not recognize it as such. When I go to the directory, it says no space available. Also it does not automatically open up the windows dialog box as is the case with other media. I've tried various manufacturer's media so it's not a defective DVD-R.

thanks in advance.
