One need only look at the mess Kerry has made of his position on the War to realize how incompetent the guy is. It is 30 days before the election and the biggest topic before the debate is, "Well, DOES he or DOESN'T he? He did, then he didn't, then he did again, didn't again, and now he doesn't again.". This is no overstatement.

It is GOP spin. Personally, I also supported the invasion of Iraq. Over the past year I think the current administration has done a pathetic job of "managing the peace", and have actually begun to create more harm than good in Iraq. That's one of the reasons I think George should be removed from office. Kerry's view is likely indentical to mine. Vote for the war assuming George will execute the whole process (regime change and nation building) well, then vote against George (not against the war) because George is mucking it up. Kerry's changing view of the war is not a sign of weak character, or indecision, it just gets spun that way by Kerry's opponents.

If you make your assessment of Kerry's character based on how the GOP spins his past, of course you aren't going to want him for President. You should make your assessment yourself, based on the facts.

So again, tell me why you think Kerry changed his mind a lot? Where's the evidence???

Yesterday he actually said, in an interview, "It depends on what the outcome is".

Well, what was the question?

Nation building wasn't the goal, wasn't the intent,

Having you heard him discussing endlessly the concept of a people going from a dictatorial, oppressive regime to a freedom loving, democratic representative government? If that isn't nation building, what is?

When pressed about Iran, he clearly and definitively said we will NOT allow Iran to have nukes.

Good for him! I wouldn't mind if he set a one year time table for the troops to get out of Iraq, and then send them immediately into Iran on the way home.

re: It really isn't. Nation building wasn't the goal, wasn't the intent

Powell told Bush "you break it, you own it". It may not have been his desire, but he knew the consequences.

re: but our guys are there to provide security

And a hell of a job they are doing:

Baghdad Bombings Kill 34 Children

By ALEXANDRA ZAVIS, Associated Press Writer

BAGHDAD, Iraq - At least three bombs exploded near a U.S. convoy in western Baghdad on Thursday, killing 34 children and three adults, a hospital official said. Hours earlier, a suicide car bombing killed a U.S. soldier and two Iraqis on the capital's outskirts.

It was unclear if the bombs — which also wounded 137 people, including 10 U.S. soldiers — targeted the convoy or a ceremony marking the opening of a new sewage system in the neighborhood that was taking place at the same time. Also unknown was the nationalities of the casualties or whether there were U.S. soldiers among the dead.
