i>>>However, since SI had a search feature I would trust once that is resurrected, it will be available to LifeTime Subscribers prior to your acquistion as well.

It already is.

The enhancements will be available to the recurring subscribers and Premium+ subscribers. Search My Private Messages being one such enhancement. Access to extended history being another.

Again, yes and no.

Basic public message search capability will be available to 10/11 accounts.

Advanced aspects, including PM search and searching public messages further back than whatever number of messages we eventually settle on as the optimum for the search table will require the extra account level, as will the Advanced Search when it's done.

While I'm talking about Search, I wonder if some elements of it have been noticed. I'm sure we'll include these in an easy-to-find and easy-to-read document, but there are some niceties that the old version never had.

1. Subject search works across ALL subjects ever created. Unlike the old version, it doesn't limit it to recently-active threads.

2. Anyone (including free members) can search for a word that's in a subject's header. And it's updated in realtime. That's the "Board Description" selection.

3. All members are returned in Member search. I don't remember if I've got it returning members who haven't posted, but strongly suspect I do. The old site had a HUGE bug in that search. You could only find a person if you knew what their alias was at some date in the past I never could determine. If you changed your name to "GL" instead of "LG", you wouldn't be found on a search for "GL". Only on "LG". That's not the case here. Searching aliases works on whatever the alias is right *now*.
