Then you do not know enough to assess the effectiveness of Sadr's actions in Najaf. He defied the United States in an armed conflict and walked away with even stronger credentials than he had before -- and he is free to run for election and consolidate his gains come January if there are elections. He left us looking like idiots -- we blew up Najaf and killed civilians and accomplished nothing. Then he walked away clean with his dignity and his supporters. He did not need a single additional supporter to achieve his aims.
