cirrus. You said....." The US, the worlds sole remaining superpower, is the only nation with a military capable of rapid global deployments. ".....

Agreed.

You said....." The UN does not have a single soldier - it relies on member nations to contribute forces for the missions it undertakes.
Since the UN does not have a military force, and no other nation has the capabilities to put troops on the ground in remote areas, how do you propose the UN "take care" of genocides? ".....

That is the exact point I am trying to make...The UN CAN'T ! take care of genocides, They must rely on the USA to act in this regard. Yet the UN members are made up of many countries that are enemies to the USA and these countries will ALWAYS vote in a manner that will cause harm or embarrasment to the USA. This is why I say the UN is a corrupt organization and needs to be fixed or dismantled.

Do you recall before the Iraq war when Iraq was in charge of disarmament and Lybia was in charge of Human rights?

If as you have stated the USA is the only superpower capable of stopping genocide such as what is happening in Sudan should the USA act on it's own in this kind of situation and ignore the stupidity of the UN actions that are occuring right now and causing thousands of deaths in the Sudan?

Clinton could have prevented the genocide in Rwanda if he had acted without UN approval. He didn't and a million or so innocent people died because of UN inaction or the refusal of member countries to do anything that may hinder their own interests in that region.
