Again - we would not have been in this Islamist mess now had Mr. Carter been resolute and had he taken care of the hostage crisis in Iran. The U.S. inaction at that time and many subsequent events simply emboldened the terrorists. Thank God, we have someone resolute in the Oval Office now who understands the longer term consequences of inaction and who is doing something about this menace.

Yes, the war would have been unncessary if jimmy carter had done his job as President. However, he didn't. The military was degraded so much during his years that our nation was in grave danger. We did not have maintenace personnel available to work on TO&E and the maintenance personnel we did have had to cannibalize vehicles which were down to keep others running. In other words, we had no soldiers to repair vehicles and no parts to fix em. This is where jimmy carter took the military. Ronald Reagan had a tremendous task of rebuilding the Armed Forces after 4 years of neglect by jimmy carter. enough said.
