It is true that blacks serve in the military in disproportionate numbers. About 20 percent of the military is black, while blacks represent just over 12 percent of the U.S. population. So Rangel is correct about the minority representation in the military. And you did not address the other two points. The first that the military is over represented by poor folks. Believe it or not poor folks can be white too. And the last point is that a draft will mean that rich people will have to send their daughters and sons to war too...unless you're real powerful like Bush and Cheney...who dodged the war and the draft respectively. When the Bush daughters get down to the recruiter and sign up for duty in Iraq, then and only then will we be able to see just how the president feels about his kids serving. Orca
