One of the first things someone said to spin this is that last time it was clear that Gore won the first debate but by a couple of days later the perception was that he had lost.

If that happens this time I will lose any semblence of respect for the media. This was a clear win for Kerry. Not a knock out, but a clear win.

Kerry, the heavyweight. Yes, that's it. Bush was in way over his head. He said "um" a lot. Kerry didn't.
