Joe

I think Kerry definitely presented better, as you say. I'll be interested today & tomorrow to hear what is said about his substance.

Bush to me looked (well, after about first 20 to 30 minutes) like he was sleepy, tired, or had a about 3 beers (which is where I usually start to get sleepy). It was clearly an off night for Bush.

Its too bad....you still don't get it. There is no there there.

What I wonder is how this changes the election equation. Kerry's base was a little dispireted, resigned to defeat, and this debate may give them some hope.

Who told you that the Kerry base is "a little dispirited, resigned to defeat bla bla bla"? If anything, his base has become more energized during the past month. From where do you think all those new registrations are coming? There are many volunteers in the field.....probably like Z........working to register voters. In addition, celebs quietly have fanned out across the country getting people to register. Did you know that Drew Barrymore took a year off to work on her ABB campaign? And lest you think Barrymore is a lightweight, think again.

Every person I know who is ABB is working to get out the Kerry vote in November. Many women are very ABB and they are networking with their friends. Bush may win in November but it won't be because people didn't try to stop him.

What I wonder about is the anti war people. Have they learned that Kerry is a BS artist, that his latest somewhat hawkish position is just to fool enough of the centrists to get elected, or do they take him latest statements seriously?

We know exactly what Kerry is doing and so do you.

Dick Morris says that some 2/3 of Kerry supporters want out of Iraq now.

The same D. Morris who fooled with a hooker. Pish! 100% of Kerry supporters want Bush out now! We'll deal with the rest later.

Certainly this thread confirms it. What is stronger, their hate of Bush, or their anti-war position? I suspect their hate of Bush, but you never know.

BINGO!

Kerry is counting on both sides (pro war and anti war) to give him the benefit of the doubt. He is counting that both sides will believe only the those statements of Kerry that agree with their position, and will dismiss the statements disagreeing with their position as just BS to get elected. This calculation may very well work for Kerry unless Bush campaign hammers it from now to the election.

We'll see...............
