Don, re "While I appreciate some of the member suggestions for bug fixes (even though none of the suggestions have cured the problem), ..."

You mean you're *still* looking at a black background in Netscape? In the menu bar, select Help==>About Netscape and tell us which version you are running.

When you're looking at the "black screen of SI", what is the address in the address bar?

Were you able to change the background colors while in IE? With what value (#xxxxxx) or color name did you leave it? What background color (in IE) do you see ... and what is the hex value or word for Page Background Color on the Options page? If you change it ... and then return to the Options page, has it actually changed?

Did you set up Netscapes's Edit-->Preferences-->Appearance-->Colors the way Siber suggested? Message 20580502

If you expect to make any headways, you'll need to give specific results for what you're trying and seeing.

Ron

Don, can you tell if are you logged-in with the Netscape browser when you see the black background?

By the way, my comments were directed to the, "If it ain't broke don't fix it!", etc. It was "broke", and on the verge of total failure. That's what I was referring to as having been explained many times on this and other related threads.
