This so called "UN crap" had Saddam firmly in its grip. Saddam was building palaces, not WMDs. Lighten up!

Right. So if the sanctions were removed, which is what would have happened, do you think he would not be exercising his WMD programs? He kept them alive for a reason of course.

Brian, whoever said the sanctions were going to be lifted? Saddam wanted them lifted but every guy in jail wants to get out on parole. Doesn't mean its going to happen.

Bottom line, the world is better off without him. With a democracy in Iraq, the world is much, much better off.

Is the world better off? Talk to the parents of the 35 kids who died yesterday. And if it is better off does it justify the huge cost we have paid and continue to pay?

Like it or not, we're there now and we have to fix it. One of Bush's best points last night was that Kerry was not going to have much success convincing other nations to help a war that is a "grand diversion". Not to mention France and Germany have already said that they would not be much more inclined to help President Kerry over President Bush.

Brian, do you really believe they would say otherwise right now? First of all, Bush would scream bloody murder and relations would be even worse with them [if that's possible] if he wins a second term. Secondly, their noses are out of joint. We are going to have to play kiss kiss for some time before they will agree to even talk to us.

Its like when you screw up and your wife won't let you back into the house. You know how that is. <g>
