I believe you are right for a segment of the insurgents. But I do not believe that applies to the majority of the insurgents. I think that Iraqis are a lot like everyone else; they want freedom, sure, but they also want to be able to support their families. The high unemployment rate, the bungled reconstruction, the heavy handed American bombings and roadblock 'mistakes', the botched neocon 'utopian capitalistic society' plan all contribute to a growing nationalism in Iraq.
