Insurgencies aren't 'hills'.

As long as more and more people keep flocking to sign up with the resistence (as the Pentagon and CIA both confirm), then you can count on more and more fighting --- and no tactical positions on the ground being definitively beyond dispute.

There is such a thing as a Pyrric victory, you know.

It's possible to win every discrete battle... and still 'lose the war', be unable to achieve your ultimate aims.
