Dear Clueless,

Re: Oil are we running out?

Why do you possibly think you can get away with your silly 'straw man' argument? Absolutely no one is predicting that we are running out of oil. Certainly none of the multiple sources I've cited make that argument.

Why are you so obtuse?

The problem is not that we are running out of oil. The problem is that we are running out of new and profitable locations to search for oil.

You need to realize that for every four barrels of crude consumed today (about 80MMbpd), we are discovering only about one barrel of new reserves to replace what we consume.

As Reagan Treasury Secretary Herb Klein stated so succinctly, 'if something can't go on forever, it won't'.

We are not running out of oil. There will be oil in the ground when the Age of Cheap Oil ends. The question is not whether or not we run out of oil. The question is how do we re-construct the American economy when market forces send the price of a barrel of oil into nose-bleed territory. That is what is missing from the national debate on energy policy and seems to completely escape your limited comprehension.
