Gottfried, Thanks for the charts. it looks like chip makers underspent (relative to the past) by approx $2b per quarter (on equipment). Since chip sales were good, there should be $2b extra in chip company earnings.

Two conclusions.

1- Chip makers' profits are going to be higher than expected.
2- There will be no down turn in equipment sales.
This person's prediction is nonsense.
