Kerry has more positions on every issue than most people could possibly keep track of. Many people call the telling different stories about the same events on different days lying. Kerry at best cannot make his mind up. At worst he is a duplicitous liar. If you want to make sense, then I would discern between GOP spin and the reality. And for every alleged Kerry flip flop, I can match you with one of Bush's, starting with an important campaign tenet of states' rights that was violated within days of the 2000 election.

Bush has convictions. People who do things for the right reasons sometimes do the wrong things. Bush is going in a direction. The country can either protect itself or cower, waiting for the next attack. Convictions are not necessarily good things. The nature of the conviction can be either wise or foolish, so just having strong views is not necessarily an attribute. The Ku Klux Clan members had strong convictions, and they sucked. Bush is going in a direction, and most of the world outside the US hates the direction, and about half of the population (based on the polls) doesn't approve of the direction or at least prefers Kerry's direction. Doesn't that make you think the direction may not be the best? And the US is neither protecting itself nor cowering waiting for an attack, it is the attacker. The attach on Afghanistan was clearly justified, the attack on Iraq is a lot more questionable, but the next attack seems more likely to come from a Bush administration (in the name of liberation and freedom) than against the US.
