The problem is not MoP targeting of gold, the problem is how the cognoscenti, and playbook hedge funds trade things. They have no compunctions about positioning around lies and propaganda. They may pay the price later, but don't get in their way too early. And they will correlate precious metals to the USD. There are a couple other factors that may contribute to rough sledding (and then opportunity) short term. In addition to doctored up employment data on 10/8, there's a new WAG agreement coming this week. Fundamentally, an increase from 2000 to 2500 tonnes is minor, but psychologically different story. Finally, we are at the end of the strong seasonal period in gold. Worked great this year BTW.

Note there's another good seasonal entry point for gold in early-mid-Nov, which overlays nicely with what I'm forseeing.
