Do you have the same difficulty with the list of marked subjects? The fonts are the same color, style, size, and weight. siliconinvestor.com

Were you to change the "Page Background Color" in "Options" to #EEEEEE ... the background striping would be the same too ... and the only difference would be 4 extra pixels of cellpadding in each stripe.

Personally, I prefer the larger spacing the padding provides.
