The Phoenix Program was very-very real. Sometimes far rightwingers who want to cover up the things that went on post such "reviews" as you posted. The Phoenix Program is a part of US history. It as an assaasination program run by the CIA using Special Forces members as behind- enemy lines killers, and to scare and humiliate the Vietnamese (a la Abu Graib) they often left their victims beheaded. See, in Buddhism, you can't get to Nirvana without a head. it is likely that many of these soldiers used by the CIA were the ones who told Kerry in 1971 to tell congress about what their country made them do. The Bushies who now blame Kerry for that are ignooring reality and blaming the messenger. They also seem to wish to the Vietnam War had gone on and on and on despite it being a lost cause ever since 1968. Kery was a great warrior and a tough peace-maker. We owe him a great debt. Nixon and Colson apologized to him. Now it's your turn.
