Kerry prolonged the war and gave a crumbling enemy reason to hold out rather than resign their conquest of South Vietnam.

The resulting fall of South Vietnam resulted in millions slaughtered in So. Vietnam and millions more to be slaughtered in Laos and Cambodia.
