As far as your second point, I'm glad that there are places you can go where you are not harrassed every thing you say. If all you want is an echo, get off SI and talk only to yourself. And that opportunity is not at the expense of open threads. They exist and indeed are very active. Ever notice the large number of people who stay only within the confines of THEIR side? Go check out the posters on the Jackass Hotel or Chinu's thread. You'll find lots of them. I think it is a better thing to have the choice whether or not one wants to enter the war zone. It shouldn't be that that is forced upon everyone at all times. So you only want to hear your own opinion echoed back at you. I can see why you want ignore and bans. I can understand that you disagree. You seem to very much enjoy battling all the time and would like to force your preference as a mandate on all others. Force? This is the internet, fella. What's force got to do with it? You think I can reach through that screen and throttle you if you disagree? Personally I'm glad the SI moderators disagree with you. And maybe it's because the political threads and their disputes are the Admin's biggest hassle- -as they have said repeatedly. And they see moderated echo chambers as a way of minimizing their own hassles. That doesn't mean it's good for anyone else.
