I agree with you Jeff. If discussion is stifled the board is likely to become nothing but an overt stock promotion vehicle. If everyone with different views decided to set up another board on the same stock, it could become confusing and probably laughable

If people want to set up stock promotion boards with automatic exclusion of anyone they have on their 'enemies' lists, then maybe they should pay an extra fee to SI for the privilege.

Jeff,

Below I recapped the last 4 posts from you and scionist in regards
to what may be the biggest difference in how SI and IH(investorshub.com)
allows the membership community to express their opinions & insights.

Myself being a member of both for many years has delivered a view
to me that each is required to absorb all the modes of folks desperate
to escape the Raging Bull type environment, and individualize themselves.

There is a Jeff on IH 2 years younger than you.

If time allows, please get in touch with this Jeff and investigate
the where & why Sheriff Matt gave the Hollen Gang of Thugs, das boot.

This could identify if SI here needs changes so that BobZ's Dave
has the tools to police such riff-raft outta here.

My opinion is that unless Bob & Matt want to combine SI + IH into an SiHub,
making the whole less than the sum of the now parts, and reduce the scope
and depth of where a place exist allowing a refuge for Raging Bull Sickness,
then thats their decision to allow Bill Gates and Warren Buffet
to create a place better than an SiHub Inc.

My suggestion to Bob & Matt, as owners, is to identify a clause
in the SI TOU agreement stating that anyone whom feels infected
with the Hollen Sickness is allowed a transfer of membership to IH.

Yes,
SI does have an old Musky Smell, unlike IH's HOT KKD aroma,
but some perfer the Sweat & Tears experience to Matt's Teddy Bear :o)

... it seems all hollen has to do to stifle discussion
on a stock is to set up a board and then ban anyone
on his current (and doubtless growing daily)enemies list,
is there any control exerted over that megalomaniac tendency by SI?
hollen really likes to set up stock boards, and if there's only
one point of view allowed are not those boards likely
to become rather one-note? Of course, that's his intention...

You have it within your means to start another board...

... depends.
If Hollen is "successful" in keeping negativity off his thread
and onto Scionist's parallel thread, what would really be
stifled is the allure of a message board like Silicon Investor
where spiritied freewheeling discussions are routinely the main attraction.

Absolutely agree. The whole ban and pre-ban formula is diametrically opposed to the existing SI clientele, as far back as I can remember and today. But what do I know, this ain't your father's SI: changing as we speak, with the advent of SI freeriders...
