To: Shtirlitz who wrote (637416 ) 10/4/2004 8:40:00 AM From: PROLIFE Respond to of 769670 JOHN KERRY AND THE DEBATES: TOP TEN LIST OF THE SENATOR'S CURIOUS STATEMENTS 10. “Osama bin Laden uses the invasion of Iraq in order to go out to people and say that America has declared war on Islam.” -Reminiscent of Christmas in Cambodia, has Lieutenant Jg Kerry gone behind enemy lines again? Kerry knows more about bin Laden’s daily routine than top U.S. military personnel, many of whom believe bin Laden may be dead. 9. Recommendations for coalition-building, “…sit down with those world leaders, say ‘What do you need, what do you need now, how much more will it take to get you to join us?’” -And Kerry thinks Bush has a coalition of “the coerced and the bribed”?. 8. “Nuclear proliferation. Nuclear proliferation…right now this president is spending hundreds of millions of dollars to research bunker-busting nuclear weapons. Not this President. I’m going to shut that program down.” -'PRESIDENT KERRY', where do you think rogue nations are doing their nuclear development? Yes, the answer is “In a bunker”. Note: Ronald Reagan never had to use any of his added nuclear armament to bring down the Soviet Union. 7. On Bush’s lack of support for homeland security: “That’s why they had to close down the subway in New York when the republican convention was (t)here.” Not one station was ever closed during the week of the convention, not even under Madison Square Garden during Bush’s speech. Wasn’t Kerry in St. Louis, preparing for his electrifying midnight rally? 6. “We got weapons of mass destruction crossing the (Iraq) border every single day.” The whole might of the U.S. military has been unable to locate the WMDs, but Kerry’s got his eye on them… 5. On his vote against the $87 billion funding for armament in Iraq: ”When I came back from that (Vietnam) war, I saw that it was wrong (Kerry likes that word). Some people don’t like the fact that I stood up to say no, but I did. And that’s what I did with that ($87 B) vote. And I’m going to lead those troops to victory.” -Huh? 4. “We didn’t need that tax cut. America needed to be safe.” -Everyone knows that you can’t have equitable, job-creating tax policy AND not be blown up by a suitcase bomb. 3. “I've met kids in Ohio, parents in Wisconsin places, Iowa, where they're going out on the Internet to get the state-of-the-art body gear to send to their kids. Some of them got them for a birthday present.” We all know that Kerry voted against the Body armor in the $87 B vote (see #5) which makes this statement ridiculous - but did you notice that the only place people are concerned is in Battleground states? 2. On Bush’s lack of international credibility: “I mean, we can remember when President Kennedy in the Cuban missile crisis sent his secretary of state to Paris to meet with DeGaulle. And in the middle of the discussion, to tell them about the missiles in Cuba, he said, "Here, let me show you the photos." And DeGaulle waved them off and said, "No, no, no, no. The word of the president of the United States is good enough for me.” -Is it possible, Jean-Francois Kerry, that it’s not America’s presidents that have changed, but perhaps France itself? 1. “ The United Nations, Kofi Anan offered help after Baghdad fell. And we never picked him up on that…” - Note: AFTER Baghdad fell… All quotes of John Kerry were furnished by the cspan.org transcipt of the first presidential debate of 2004, Miami, Florida.
