What "sides" are you talking about? If you mean Kerry supporters, Kerry, Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and others all agreed that Saddam Hussein had WMD and Kerry and Hillary voted for war.

They voted to give the President authorization to go to war. It would be very difficult not to give the President that authorization if the President request it.

Going to War is the President's decision. The buck stops there. If a mistake was made - that is where the blame goes. If it turned to be right, the President gets the credit.

Giving the President the authorization to go to war does not necessarily mean you had to believe Saddam Hussein had WMD.

My side is saying the President was in charge. He decided to go to war. The decision turned out badly. There was no WMD and there was no link to AQ. The President gets the credit or the blame. That's the way the game is played.

George Steinbreener gives authorization to Joe Torre to make decisions and to manage the New York Yankees. If he makes the wrong decisions, even if Rudy Guiliani agreed with decisions, and the Yankees lost - Joe gets fired.
