Hi Bruce,
I dont dislike cheney. I dislike what he represents to the anti-bush forces including independents and how that affects bush reelection chances. My feeling is that if he was replaced on the ticket by rudy or mccain, bush would be in far better shape right now. And he wouldnt be so heholding to the right and may actually admit an error now and again and thus he might still have my support. (I really worry alot about kerry as pres)
Rumsfeld is the guy who has really disappointed me. Since i believe in acccontablity especially in war, i think he should have been fired after the abu grab mess, not just for that but for the whole "war on the cheap", "troops will be greeted with flowers", "war is going well" screw ups and untruths. There certainly are others who could be good at Defense and acceptable to Bush. But bush valued loyalty and rove valued the no-nothing cons more than the truth. mike
