>Everyone knows the champagne unit of the Texas Air Guard was a safe way to avoid combat. <

So was the Navy .. and the Navy was easier to get into.

Tell me ..

Kerry wrote a letter to get out of the ballance of his military duty.

The reason that he stated he needed to get out of the military was that he was against the war now.

He was granted an early out, based on that.

Doesn't it seem very odd that he was granted his request?

There were a lot of folks that were against the war .. they had to run off to other countries or go to jail .. What made Kerry so special?

Bush played by the same rules as every other National Guardsperson. The early release was commonly done at the time.

Kerry's request to his draft board was refused. He attempted to dodge the draft by going to France. Only after he was declined did he "volunteer". He figured out a way to cheat the system. He phonied up two Purple Owie applications, and got one that was marginal. Many Purple Hearts involved at least a little hospital time. How many days did Kerry do? Oh, that’s right, zero.

His 12 weeks of duty was a slap to honest servicemen who served for years instead of months. He is a cheater. He proved again last week.
