<<<Maybe you think it's all about talking points.>>>

For some, politics is all a game, but for me - I would like to think I am for what is good for my country.

I would like a President who can think. Preferably one that can tell me what he thinks in a way that I could tell that it is coming from him directly and not through some PR guru.

I don't mind if the President makes mistakes - but I would like the President to own up to mistakes.

For now, I don't necessarily care how we got into Iraq (history will sort that out), but it is clear to almost everyone now - including a lot of die hard Republicans and Conservatives (George Will and William F Buckley included) - that going into Iraq was a mistake. Don't tell me that Congress, or anyone else, forced GWB to invade Iraq - the final decision was his and his alone.

It is also clear to everyone now (except to the true die hards) that no one can really fix Iraq - not even the Iraqi's themselves. Iraq is really in a mess.

And, no one that I respect now believe that we have to cut and run. Most responsible people I know want us to fix things sufficiently so that we can get out.

To think that there is a rosy scenario if we just dig deeper into Iraq is foolish. That is just my humble opinion (and I mean humble - because I have a lot to be humble about).
