If Chirac doesn't approve, Kerry probably will do what he (Kerry) think's is best.

Kerry never has said the US requires Chirac's approval to do anything.

The GOP spinmeisters have said that Kerry has said that.

Why do you believe GOP spinmeisters rather than an objective reading of Kerry's words?

Slowly but surely the truth comes out. And of course, there is the problem that they've told so many mistruths, they can't keep them straight. Another reason why we don't want them in the WH for a second term. Loose cannons whether a weapon or human are too dangerous to keep around.

US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld was forced to go into damage control mode Monday hours after a statement he made began to spread through the media.
Mr. Rumsfeld "attempted to distance himself from his earlier comments that there were no links between Saddam Hussein and Al Qaeda," reports The Guardian.
