Haven't you ever belonged to an organization where you didn't like some of the people? Where you had differing views and were glad you weren't friends?

Yes. But I did not rush out and try to appoint the organization as my nanny.

Yes, there was corruption with the O for F program but there is corruption here in the US as well. HAL was accused of price gouging gas over in Iraq. That doesn't mean you throw the baby out with the wash.

There is corruption throughout the UN. This was the easiest to pick on.

You'll have to show me who the credible source is. Saddam was one of the major benefactors of the corruption. And he sunk his share of the loot into palaces and fast cars, and not al Qa'ida.

The first place I saw the charge was n WSJ. They don't allow easy access. Here is another reference, less credible, but a reference.

My understanding was that Annon worked closely with the Security Council to get the weapon inspectors back into Iraq.

You normally post lucid thoughts. The offer to allow weapons inspectors back in came after the US had amassed troops on the borders. Draw the only conclusion possible. Even if Kofi wanted them back in, it may have been greed (Oil4food), arrogance (what WMDs) other reasons for his actions.

RE: structure.

We have two houses. Yes, I am tired and posted erroneously that China is not on the Security Council. The main body is like the Senate. We do not have another like the house. Would you allocate seats by population or GDP?

Just because the People tolerate the scoundrels does not mean that they are ok.

Africa votes as a block generally. This often means that the democracies vote the way that dictatorships want them to. This is counter to the spirit of the UN.

Kofi was elected as a bone to African Delegates when his predecessor a so corrupt that even the UN could not keep him. He gets no second term.
