U.S. chain stores' same-store sales up 0.3% last week WASHINGTON (AFX) -- U.S. retail chain-store sales increased 0.3 percent last week compared to the prior week, according to the latest survey compiled by the International Council of Shopping Centers and UBS. Chain-store sales are up 2.6 percent year-over-year. Sales were softer in September, due to stormy weather and the drag of higher gasoline prices, said ICSC, which expects the stores will report 2 percent year-over-year growth for the month on Thursday
