Well now, don't hold us in suspense! How'd your software project turn out? Last week you said you were on a critical deadline for an $8 million dollar deal with your PhD software engineering gig due last Thursday whilst you were very busy reading SI boards, sadly without the "ignore" feature which made you read too many posts against your will for this important deadline.

With such a reading gun against one's head for such an important deal, we'd surely like to know the outcome. Did scaning SI (sans "ignore" function) help the programming to enable the $8 million bux to come through, or is there a liability involved for reading too many posts against one's will that led to the company's downfall? Did the PhD help overcome any philosophical dichotomies between completing an $8 million dollar software project and spending time reading SI political posts (which seem to be the particular flavour for which you request this most important "I can't seem to ignore it of my own self-will" function).

I'm multi-tasking. Small features have been getting implemented and I'm actively involved in soliciting/weighing feedback on others while also working on the three big front-burner items.

Status report of the 3:

1. Subscription expiration and notification: Completed. Today I'll spend some time making Lifetime subscriptions available and subtracting the cost of current, non-expired subscriptions from them where applicable.

2. Preview/Spellcheck: About 60% done. Should be done and in production by the end of this week.

3. Ignore: Not started yet.

I'm sorry you're confused

to help clear it up a bit for you, Bob has stated over and over and over again that the ignore feature will be implemented in the future

he said he will and he will

till then there is this little trick you can use to save your valuable time when reading the political threads - when you click on a message written by a poster you previously had on ignore, click to the next message immediately - takes about a second

as a side, I doubt that the majority of posters would list the ignore feature 'critical' to this site, which is first and foremost a financial chat/message entity

and imo, having spellcheck/preview is far more important than ignore
